What meds can I take for this?

I have arthritis at the bottom of my spine. I am a gastric bypass patient and my GI doctor said that I can never take NSAIDs, anti-inflammatory meds such as aspirin, ibuprofen, etc as it will damage my stomach. What other meds can I take to manage my pain?
Most of my days are bad days…

I believe that Ultram has no issues with damaging the stomach. It makes some people tired, so I wouldn’t take it during the day until you know how if affects you.
